Clinica Alabama - Granada

Call to Action
I want to provide you with an opportunity to support Clinica Alabama. I started a fundraising website:

All of the money will be used to restock the lingering supplies of vital medications.

Please read the post for information on Nicaragua and Clinica Alabama and how you can help us out :)

Website to give: Help Clinica Alabama

Nicaragua

Nicaragua is one of the least developed countries and has one of the highest rates of poverty, underemployment, and unemployment in Latin America.  With one of the fastest growing populations in the region and the burden of historically recent political conflict, the government is severely challenged to meet the health care needs of its population, especially the least privileged. Our yearly clinics have uncovered what the World Health Organization indicates is a serious and growing problem with diabetes in this region.

What is Clinica Alabama?

Clinic Alabama-Granada was founded in February of 2004 by volunteer members of "Friends of Rudy (FOR) Nicaraguan Health Inc". Clinica Alabama is dedicated to service the population of Granada and surrounding cities with a low income and no access to medical services.  Clinica Alabama's Mission is to bring medical aid to the great numbers of impoverished people in Nicaragua who have limited access to health care, sharing medical techniques with our local counterparts. Clinica Alabama has two on-staff Nicaraguan doctors, administrative personnel and a pharmacist plus volunteer personnel who give medical care to sixty to eighty patients daily from Monday though Friday.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to service medical needs to the low income residents of Granada, Nicaragua and neighboring cities.  Clinica Alabama relies solely on donors for everything from medicine to gloves to the probe covers for otoscopes. Despite generous giving from all over, the clinic faces a constant shortage of these necessary items. Right now, the clinic is in desperate need of medications.  See google docs for the lists..  List One    List Two

How to help out...

Due to customs in US and Nicaragua, giving money is the only option if you would like to help Clinica Alabama. I have posted a list of items on Google Docs (see links above) that will be purchased with your generosity. I hope to raise money before the time I have to go back home. Before I leave, I will post pictures of those items in use with the people who rely on them!

Thank you so much for your love and support! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions:

Please, help me restock this place!!

I have not received word on whether  or not you can get a 501c3 receipt.  Sometimes, it is difficult to maintain a 501c3, so once I hear word, I will be able to let you know.  You can email me your address in the event that it is possible.  The money is being deposited directly to me. All of the funds will go directly to buying medication.  Please let me know if you have questions!

Thank you!
